Review of Unexpected Gifts by Elena Aitken

Month of December brings the festival of Christmas. This is the time when I love to curl up in my blanket and read a good book with a cup of hot chocolate. As much as I love Diwali, I love Christmas too.
The air smell different this time and there is lots of hope and happiness. This festival helps me to believe that miracles do happen.

You must be thinking that why I am talking so much about Christmas when I should be actually talking about the book. Well, the thing is that this book is all about Christmas and love.

This is the story of Andi and Colin. Andi has stopped believing in Christmas and Colin wishes to enjoy Christmas as much as he used to do when he was a child.

Andi had a very bad break up and had just lost her unborn baby. Her parents are divorced and this Christmas none of them is with her. She is all alone and sort of has stopped believing in Christmas and wants to stay away from the festivities. Her best friend and business partner Eva sends her to the Castle Mountain Lodge to spend the Christmas in a hope that it would bring her peace and happiness.
Colin has stayed away from Canada for a long time now and misses the snow and Christmas a lot. He has no family and is all alone. He is eager to experience the Christmas and the festivities again. His assistant books him a villa at the Castle Mountain Lodge, so that he can again experience Christmas.
Due to a screw up, Andi and Colin gets to share the Villa. When Colin comes to know that Andi does not like Christmas anymore, he decides to make it his mission to make her believe again in the miracle of Christmas and it is in this attempt of his that he starts falling for her.

Fate has brought two people together who don’t believe in love anymore. Will the miracle take place and will Christmas bring happiness in their lives again?

This book is a perfect story for the Christmas. It’s sweet and romantic and makes you smile a lot.

So what are you waiting for, go grab a copy of this book and a hot chocolate cup and curl up in your blanket and enjoy the Christmas.
